Healthy 100 Church Certification

The Three Phases

Florida Hospital's Healthy 100 Church Ministry empowers churches to experience growing health ministries. Christ promised, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John: 10:10) Throughout the Healthy 100 Church Ministry, Florida Hospital helps you and your church experience the benefits of a health ministry in three consecutive phases:

Phase 1: "Healthy 100 Church Pastors"

Pastoral leaders are given opportunities to develop health and wellness in their churches and personal lives. Pastors are provided with opportunities to learn more about the dynamic health ministry process, participate in the Clergy Wellness Project for them and their spouse, and even launch a kickoff health event at their church.

Wellness Resolution

The first step to becoming a Healthy 100 Church is to meet with one of our health ministry liaison. He or she will listen to the mission of your church and then share the vision of Healthy 100 Church and how they may tie together. Churches who want to partner with us on the Healthy 100 Church journey have the opportunity to sign a wellness resolution that states, “As followers of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, our congregation commits to a renewed concern about the health of our congregants and calls on our members to engage in programs that promote congregational health and well being.” Once this resolution is signed, your church is certified as a Healthy 100 Church.

Health & Wellness

For the continual education of the 8 principles of a Healthy 100, we invite all health ministry team members to become a Healthy 100 member. This free membership provides each individual customized health information along with interactive tools and resources designed to track health accomplishments and create personalized health plans.

It is also highly recommended that each health ministry team member becomes familiar with the 8 proven principles to a Healthy 100. This can be taught through a simple online self-assessment that goes over Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal relationships, Outlook and Nutrition.

Events

In efforts to keep the health ministry teams engaged in the latest health and wellness topics, we host 2 monthly Lunch & Learns, one tailored to Pastors and one for Faith Community Nurses. There are also special events throughout the year that will inspire action and educate on health and faith connections.

Clergy Wellness Project

Florida Hospital's Healthy 100 Church Ministry is providing Pastors and their spouses an opportunity to live life to the fullest - in body, mind and spirit - with the uniquely designed Clergy Wellness Project.

This opportunity is being sponsored by Florida Hospital as an investment in community wellness and is offered to pastors with a desire to be a part of the Clergy Wellness Project for one full year.

Kick-Off Event at Your Church

For Healthy 100 Churches that have gone through the steps above and are ready to transition into the 2nd Healthy 100 Church phase, we invite your church to host a special kickoff event that will inspire your congregation members to action. A list of possible speaker’s are listed on our speaker’s bureau page and as our gift to you, this kickoff event will be hosted free of charge.

Support

Pastors can receive the continual guidance and support from Healthy 100 Church's Health Liaisons. These liaisons will guide you through the process of making your congregation a "Healthy 100 Church".
