As your church enters into Phase 2 of a Healthy 100 Church, we provide the training and organizational development to get you started.
With roots in the nineteenth century, Faith Community Nursing has emerged as one of the fastest growing movements in nursing today. The term “parish” has its origin from a root word which means “to walk beside”, and was chosen initially to describe the type of nursing paradigm where the nurse functions within a congregational setting.
Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Curriculum introduces the registered nurse to this specialty of Faith Community Nursing. Spirituality is a content thread woven through out each module. The modules are divided into the units of spirituality, professionalism, wholistic health and community. Topics included in the training include: prayer, self-care, ethical issues, documentation, health promotion, life issues of violence, suffering and grief, assessment and care coordination. This course is currently being revised and will be actively taught starting Fall 2012.
